ADME & KINETICS

In the field of ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion), NOTOX offers a complete package of studies. These include both in vitro and in vivo studies. Our objective is to design high quality studies required for your compound while optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Towards this, we use high throughput strategies for the bioanalysis by  LC-MS/MS methods.

ADME STUDIES - IN VITRO
All our in vitro ADME studies are performed in compliance with GLP. All assays used at NOTOX have internally been validated and adhere to the very latest guidance documents. Negative/positive controls and reference substances are usually included in the different in vitro studies.  Should alternative assay procedures be required, we will discuss these with you and implement them accordingly.

ADME & KINETIC STUDIES - IN VIVO
In vivo preclinical ADME studies are routinely performed at NOTOX in rat and dog with radiolabeled compounds usually using carbon-14 or tritium isotopes. However, all other animal species or isotopes can be considered as well as non-radiolabeled test substances. Our studies are performed using all common routes of administration. Our services includes mass balance, tissue distribution, bile cannulation and dermal absorption studies.

Depending on the aim of the study, the effect of different treatment regimes on pharmacokinetics are studied (e.g. the effect of feeding vs. fasting, the bioavailability of different compounds and bioequivalence of different formulations). Pharmacokinetic evaluation using validated WinNonLin software is performed in house.
