WILBERT FRIELING, DVM
Managing Director
Wilbert Frieling graduated in Veterinary Science from the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, in 1991. From 1991 until 1996 he directed a veterinary practice. He joined NOTOX as a supporting veterinarian in December 1994. In April 1996 he was appointed as section head General and Industrial Toxicology, in 1997 he was appointed as Head of Toxicology and in 2004 he was appointed Director of Toxicology. When NOTOX joined WIL Holding in 2005, he was appointed as Managing Director of NOTOX B.V. From 1996 onwards he joined several courses of which Laboratory Animal Science, Management, Anaesthesia and Surgery, Preclinical safety evaluation, Cage enrichment, QT interval prolongation, Selection of animal species, Working with biologicals and the development of biotechnology products, Immunotoxicology, Animal nutrition, Vision in Business and Safety pharmacology. Since 2000 he is registered as Eurotox board certified toxicologist. During his time at NOTOX he also worked as a Veterinarian/ophthalmologist, a study director for Avian studies, residue studies in farm animals, reproductive studies and as a study director for all types of rodent/non-rodent studies and as a Biological Safety Inspector. He is Member of the Society for Veterinary Medicine, the Dutch Society for Laboratory Animal Scientists, the Society for Animal Technicians and the Netherlands Society of Toxicology. He is also Board member of NVDEC (Dutch society of animal ethical committees). He presented various papers on international meetings on Toxicology (mini-pig in toxicology, continuous infusion technology and preclinical safety testing strategies).




DR. ILONA ENNINGA
Technical Director
Ilona C. Enninga graduated in Biochemistry and Molecular Virology (cum laude) in 1981. She worked for five years as Research Associate at the Laboratory of Radiation Genetics and Chemical Mutagenesis at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands, which was concluded by a doctor’s degree in 1986. From the University she joined NOTOX as Head of Genetic and Environmental Toxicology. In 1990 she became a board-certified toxicologist. Dr. Enninga became Technical Director at NOTOX in 1992. In 1997 she was registered as toxicologist in applied toxicology and officially appointed as education coordinator in toxicology. In 1998 she became Eurotox registered toxicologist. From 1995 to 2004 she was respectively Secretary and Chairman of the Registration Committee on Board Certification of Toxicologists. Presently, Dr. Enninga sustains active membership in several Societies of Toxicology. She has published in various internationally recognised journals.
